Jim Mackay, B.A., MBA, CMC, Managing PartnerJim is an idea person and pilots the Berkeley Consulting Group.  His consulting approach emphasizes holistic and creative thinking, finding solutions that fit the client’s circumstances, and adding value.  Jim’s clients say that he is a thought leader bringing forward innovative ideas that recognize both business and people realities.  Jim cuts through complexity and guides people to deal with the fundamentals of what needs to be done.

For 40 years, Jim has been helping leaders of organizations successfully face their strategic and organizational challenges in the private, public and non-profit sectors.  Jim specializes in strategic direction setting, organization, mergers and governance.  Globally, he has coached top managers on organization leadership.  As an Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management, and Director of MBA capstone program, at the Schulich School of Business, he oversees MBA groups undertake strategy field studies in a vast array of industries.

Jim has a strong commitment to the community.  He has been involved in many voluntary activities with the United Way and his community.  For over a decade, on the bench as a coach or in the stands cheering, he enjoyed supporting his son’s hockey and baseball teams.  Now a community sports fan, you can often find him in an arena or at the local ball park.  Jim is an avid golfer and enjoys travelling the world.

Laren Stadelman, BA, MBA, FCMC, Associate Partner

Laren Stadelman, BA, MBA, FCMC, Associate PartnerLaren Stadelman is the Associate Partner of the Berkeley Consulting Group.  With over 25 years of consulting and coaching experience, Laren helps senior leaders set direction and strengthen organizational and Board capability.

Laren has consulted to a variety of industries and all levels of government.  She has worked with management teams and Boards across a range of disciplines including strategic planning, organizational design, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership coaching. Clients value her ability to tackle complex situations and deliver workable solutions.

An active volunteer, Laren served on hospital, professional and community boards. She is currently  a member of the Board of Georgian Bay Forever and a Caucus Member of Nature Canada’s Women for Nature initiative.

When she isn’t busy with consulting, Laren can be found seeking adventures in various parts of the world.  She is a nature enthusiast, and an avid downhill skier, hiker and golfer.

Many of our Associates have extensive backgrounds in management and consulting. While our Managing Partner generally directs all projects, our Senior Associates frequently play key roles as lead consultants or project directors:

  • Providing high level consulting analysis and advice on specialized projects requiring extensive experience and hands-on interaction with senior levels.
  • Leading projects and managing teams on complex and multi-phase projects including lead role in client relations, reporting and project management.

Our Support Team

Berkeley Support TeamOur professional support team is very experienced and performs many roles of the project manager and business analysts on assignments. They have a combined experience of over thirty years with strengths in research, statistical analysis, questionnaire design, administrative organization, productively enhancement, accounting and presentations.
